El Azteca offers solid Mexican fare if you just want to grab a bite. Compared to other options around if you're looking for a Mexican night out I'd probably go elsewhere.
I stopped by for dinner and ordered the taco salad($8)with a side of beans and a double organic margarita($15). The salad came with pulled chicken that was well seasoned, and the beans were a large portion. The margarita was perfect and didn't have the syrupy sweet flavor of the premade mixes. Once you sit down they continue to bring our fresh salsa chips and a red tomato salsa. -

I've been here quite a few times over the past few months and during each visit the service declined.
Pros: Strong margaritas for a pretty good price, love their tortillas, & really good queso.
Cons: The last three times I've gone the service was ok but the handling of things by management was horrible. My friend ordered one of their combination plates and even after asking what comes on or with each item received something different. When she asked to have it fixed or changed the manager came over. I thought it was to apologize and rectify the situation, but instead he blamed her for ordering something she didn't like(which wasn't true she just received the wrong food) and was pretty condescending & rude about it. So we paid & left.
On my most recent visit(separate time) I ordered a combination plate as well. The menu says you have options between two meats, but I'm a vegetarian. If you check out their 3-4 item vegetarian section it's most beans & cheese. So I asked if I could swap out the meat for veggies like bell peppers, onions, etc. I was told there'd be an upcharge even if I didn't want the meat. Fine, I'll pay extra for not eating meat. However, when I did receive my food i noticed there were remnants of meat throughout it. I found chorizo in the veggies I'd requested and ground beef in my rice. Disappointing & upsetting because I'm a vegetarian, but not the worse part of my visit. While drinking my margarita I noticed something in one of the ice cubes, no biggie stuff happens I plucked it out, but then I noticed there was something in multiple ice cubes. My waiter quickly grabbed the glass and told he'd get a new one asap. The manager then proceeded to analyze the glass, as if I'd lie after taking one sip, and proclaim that there was nothing in there to the bartender. His resolution was to give me half a margarita.
The food is ok most of the time, the tortillas are the shining star, but the manager who handled both situations has horrible customer service. Which is why I won't be returning. It's clear he's either never worked with customers or it's been quite some time since he has. On both occasions he was rude, condescending, & petty when dealing with resolutions. On top of that, after requesting a vegetarian option, I still had meat on my
plate. -

Not sure why this place has some bad reviews, my family and I had a great experience. The staff was very friendly, service was quick, and food came out fresh and hot. Plenty of it also, we had a ton of leftovers. I would come back if I stay on this side of town again.

After reading all the bad reviews about this I didn't have much hope for them. To my surprise tonight was a good night, the service was good. Food was great for everyone in our party, drinks was on point. So for my first time at this restaurant I can't say anything negative.

I'm not sure why this place doesn't have better ratings. We came in on a Tuesday night. Big restaurant but there weren't many patrons. Quick service. Reasonably priced. Food was great. Loved the cheese dip and chips. Tried the fish tacos, fried chicken tacos, the steak tacos, and the beef tacos street style. All were good and tasty.
